During World War II a group of Jews in eastern Europe, doomed to a Nazi concentration camp and probably death, attempts to escape to a neutral country. In the group is a mother with a small baby. At a dangerous border crossing the group crouches in the darkness, waiting for a patrol to pass. Hungry and tired, the baby begins to cry. Someone in the group hisses, "Smother that baby or we're all dead!" What should the mother do? |

I think that the mother should just try and keep the baby quiet by rocking it. If that doesn't work, at the last resort she could cover its mouth slighly and see if it gets quiet. Otherwise she could try and let it suck on her finger because babies like to nibble on things since they have no teeth. If one of these worked, it would be good, because the people attempting to cross will all be killed if they are heard. And that would be horrible if all of them died because the baby was crying. But i also don't think you could sacrafice a young babies life, just because its crying. Obviously it will cry if its hungry and tired.. its not the babies fault. So i would try the few options on top, i would NOT kill the baby ever. |
