| 1.Why do people respect nature?
I think people respect nature because its the beauty around us every minute of every day. Everywhere you go in life who experience a new type of nature, and they are all different in all sorts of ways. I also think that people are just prone to look around at their surroundings, you can't help but see how beautiful the world we live in is. Everyone has different opinions of what they like about nature, and thats the beauty about it. There's no right or wrong question. 2.In What ways is nature considered powerful? Nature is a very powerful element in our everyday lives. I think that nature is very powerful because it's the atmosphere we live in everyday. For instance rain, shine, wind, thunderstorms, or hail. Sometimes you may not like the way nature is acting on a certain day, but thats just how it works. You can't always get your way with the weather, but we all seem to get used to it and learn to love it. There is a reason for changes, for everything. 3.When people say they simply want to "live their lives" what do you think they mean? When people say they want to "live their lives," I think that it means that everyone is their own individual and has the right to live their life as the want to. Everyone has their own personality and ways of life, so no matter how much someone might want you to do something, you just can't because you are either breaking a habit, or tradition.Saying the words live their lives to me, also means that your not welcome to be included in the matter. Obviously the person does not want you to butt into what their problem is. As i sometimes say- This is an A and B conversation... C your way out. 4. Without changing your lifestyle or responsibilities, how could you "simplify" your life? I think that I could simplify my life by getting rid of the SAT's and Finals. I think that those two tests just give everyone a bunch of un-needed stress in such a little amount of time. I personally also think that one test should not determine what school you can get into, because everyone is special in their own ways, and one test to me doesn't show that. And finals...there's really nothing i want to say about finals except that I hate them and they create major lack of sleeping time, and they sometimes can ruin your A you've had all semester. 5. Many claim they live in a materialistic society, what do you think they mean? I think that we most definitely live in a materialistic society. To me that means that everyone in our society only cares about the extra things in life. For instance: fancy cars, houses, lots of money... and other expensive things. In our society everyone seems to follow trends, like if one person shops at Abercrombie and Fitch then everyone needs to shop at Abercrombie just because it makes you look like you are cool and in with the style. Everyone in our society spends so much money that they have forgotten about the little fact of being thankful for being alive with a roof above your head with a family that cares about you. 6. Social and civic responsibility is becoming increasingly meaningful for many. If you could protest one social, civic, or community issue or practice, what would it be and why? I think right now in my life i don't have anything i would protest against in a social, civic, or a community issue. But i do agree that the responsibilities are becoming higher than they used to be. No one used to want to be involved in anything, but now everyone has found out that you have freedom of speech and can state YOUR OWN OPINION, instead of someone elses. 7. Is our government too involved at times or not enough involved in the lives of people? I think that the government can go both ways. The government helps many people around all over, but could sometimes help more than they do now. I also think that the government is more influenced and helpful to the rich society in our world. Yes, they do help the poor people at times, but there are still many cases in when they do not help the ones in need who are suffering each day of their lives. 8. Are taxes good things, how do you feel about income and sales taxes? I think taxes are good things when they pay for the necessities of life like: roadways, jails, new technology, and hospital research. But i think that they are boundaries on this. I think that are taxes should go to the things we need not want. I don't think sales taxes are fair, because there is a sale tax on everything and everywhere. Why should a person have to pay an extra 7cents for a bag of chips, and he doesnt even know where his money is in fact going to. I just don't find that right to not know where your hard-worked funds are going. 9.Does all knowledge come from the five senses? Are there higher truths and concepts whose presence or existence can be proven or sustained by the five senses? I think that a lot of your knowledge comes from your five sences. Because when you contemplate something you and confusef about you reason with your five sences: feel, smell, touch, taste, and see. But i also think that your knowledge can be known by your own morals and families traditions and such. So you might not even need to use your five sences at all. I think that their might be higher truths or concepts substained by the five senses, but i have not yet figured it out. |
