- Poe was born in Boston, Massachusetts January 19th 1809
- Both of his parents died by 1811, leaving three children behind

PERSONAL RESPONSE:
I think that Edgar Allan Poe was a very unique man. Yes, he might have been a little on the crazy side, but he was unlike all the other poets in the inmdustry. Even thought he was thought to have such horror tales, he still was able to be one of the top poets known. I think that is quite extraordinary that a man with such talent can achieve that. So i admire Edgar Allan Poe very much, for overcomming so many hardships in his lifetime.
