| The lyrics to Rusty Old American Dream to me seem to be to a country song, that is maybe a slow song. I came to the conclusion that it is a country song because of the lyrics like "Won't you drive me 'cross the country boy," and " I'm a tailfin road locomotive from the days of cheap gasoline." Both of these examples of lyrics sound to me like olden days and when transpotation was not yet where we are today. This song makes me feel kind of sad, because it talks about it maybe being the last year. And it constantly talks about getting somewhere, and trying but not suceeding. At the end of the song though, it says "We can fly off into the sunset together," and it kind of makes me like the song more. It gives me a feeling a of hope in the end, like for instance never giving up till its done. I can relate to this song because i love challenges, and i know to suceed you need to fall and try again.I also know you also need to learn from your own mistakes and faults. And in the end your wish will come true if you try your best. So my first impression of the song was not to good, because it didn't seem to happy, but now after looking it over i think the message at the end is very powerful. | ||||
