Anne Dudley (Bradstreet) was born in Northhampton, England, in 1612. Her parents were Thomas Dudley, who worked as a steward of the Earl of Lincoln estate, and Dorothy Yorke.
In the time Bradstreet grew up not many women recieved good learning ecucation. But Bradstreet had multiple tutors and help from her own father, Thomas Dudley. Anne was a very sophisticated reader, in that she read many hard books, and well known authors at that. In 1628 she had married her fathers assisstant, Simon Bradstreet, who was 9 years older than her at the time.
Her father and Husband had joined a small group of men who wanted to protect Puritan values, and have their own society on the new lands. So furthermore on March 29th, 1630 Bradstreet and her family immigrated to the New World on an 3 month voyage on, The Arbella. They finally had reached Salem June 12th, 1630, and the struggle had begun.
In the next few years Bradstreet had still been writing and was as strong as an ox, as shown in her writings. She had the job of taking care of the house and watching her eight children as well. Which is not such an easy task for one woman.
      Bradstreets first publication,
The Tenth Muse Lately Sprung Up in America, boosted her confidence in writing. It was not very successful, for it was a book that tried to show the type of male authors she liked. One of her later works,In Honor of  That High and Mighty Princess Queen Elizabeth of Happy Memory, was her book that showed that all women are worth something in life.
In the Puritan culture, two married people should be repressed, but should not forget about their devotion to God. So Bradstreet spent a lot of her time writing poems and sonnets to her loving husband. One of these poems she wrote was titled,
To My Dear and Loving Husband.
In 1672 Anne Dudley Bradstreet finally died. Many writers were not able to publish any writings in Bradstreet's time, But her writings seemed to be found by Feminists who found her writings good, and unique.
I think that Anne Bradstreet was a very inspirational women and deserves all her credit now. She was a very intelligent and bright women.
