Huck Finn Color Characterizations
For identifying Huckleberry Finn, i chose the color YELLOW. The reason i chose yellow for him is because he is such a vibrant person. He is the main character of the novel as well, so he is known by all the people in the town and down the river. He is also resembled as the color yellow because he is not afraid of his father when he sees him in the room. So he shows a lot of courage, as if he were walking around in a bright yellow shirt while in hideing. "He being so unexpected; but right away after i see i warn't scared of him worth bothering about." -Huck Finn
He shows so much adult- like traits in that quote, because he still has no fear of him. Even after his father has treated him so poorly all his life, and he knows hes only come for his newly found treasure, he still fights like a bubble bee being attacked by a swatter. He won't give up a fight for no reason. He is a realist guy whos not afraid to state the obvious.
For identifying Jim, i chose the color BLUE. The reason i chose blue for him is because he is a very mellow person. Through out the adventure with the boat wreck with Huck, Jim is always telling  Huck the right things to do." I doan' want to go fool'n long er no wrack."-Jim
He always tells Huck when something is wrong, or right, just like a father figure. He also is so grateful that Huck is really his friend, even though he is looked at by everyone as just a "slave." Jim watches Huck as if he were his father, and truly does care for him. He is so greatful that Huck wanted to help him go and be a free man, with his wife and children. So therefore, Jim is a very honest, and loyal person to all his companions. He never wants to try and backstab anyone if he feels it's the wrong thing to do. He is too compassionate to others to treat someone is the wrong ways.
For identifying Tom Sawyer i chose the color RED. The reason i chose the color red for him is because he is a very romantic character. Tom and Huck have been long time companions for some time, so they know eachother like the back of their hands. When they go on adventures together, Tom always seems to make an adventure out of it, and try and be out of the original mind. Huck always comes up with the simple, quick, and non thought out  ideas. But Tom always has to make his plan so extravagant, and well thought out. He refers each and every plan to some book he has read over the years. "Why hain't you read any books at all?... Who ever heard of getting a prisoner loose in such an old-maidy way as that?"- Tom Sawyer
When Tom talks about plans with Huck, he likes to make Huck feel like his plans are so much less significant to those of his own. And Huck usually just goes along with Tom's plans because he assumes that he knows better since he has "seen it all happen in books." Tom is much more romantic than Huck because he always refers to books, while Huck is just more of a realist.
For identifying Pap Finn i chose the color GREEN. The reason i chose the color green for him is because he is a very greedy man. When i think of the color green i think about money, or having an abundance of something like a forest of trees. Pap doesnt have an abundace of money, but he has a greedy way of wanting an abundance or money so he can get alcohol. Another reason why i chose the color green is because, he gets so drunk in town that he probably turns green and vomits. When he comes back to town, he doesn't come back to see him son, Huck. He comes back because he heard that Huck had recieved a lot money, so he was coming to take it all away from him. " I heard about it away down the river, too. That's why i come. You git me that money tomorrow- I want it." - Pap Finn
He is a very greedy man, and only cares about his own well being; getting drunk, getting money, and being a bum.
For identifying the Duke and the King i chose the color PURPLE. The reason i chose the color purple is because they think they are royalty. When i think about this color i think royal, rich, and beautiful. And if you think about these two characters they are none of the above. They just wish they were capable of having those three traits. They are not roayalty at all, they are a bunch of criminals who cheated the town in a "Nonesuch" performance. There idea was to go town to town performing, and leave the second anyone got suspicious. All they wanted was to make some easy cash from anything they could think of. They trick Huck and Jim into thinking they are real royal people. They even have them answering to them at their beck and call. But in the end they only get caught, and have to face the severe punishment of being Tar and Feathered. Its a tough price to be royal on the outside, compared to  what you think you are at heart.
For identifying Watson and Widow i chose the color GREY. The reason i chose the color grey is because they are very dull, and to the point. They knew Huck had a long way to go in helping him with things like  his manners, reading, and eating skills. But they still helped him for his own good. I also chose the color grey because they are very calm and dismal. To me they seem to be playing very mother-like roles to Huck, because they are helping him so kindly in every way possible. They are the most simple people, and don't need to be characterized as a bright color because all there color  shows in there hearts with love.
