Go Riding
Group Autumn Schedule
Welcome to the autumn (whatever happened to the spring.) and a packed schedule at both centres. If we can look at Pony Club first and the brilliant news that Tilery has been granted Pony Club Centre status. The centre scheme is aimed at riders who do not have their own horses but who are keen to develop their equestrian skills and knowledge, as well as having great fun while here. Riders must be members of the Pony club Centre Scheme (leaflets are available from the office and shop) and come along to pony club wearing a white shirt and pony club tie, jodhpurs and trousers, a Go Riding or pony club sweatshirt and indoor and outdoor boots. It is also helpful to bring a file, paper and pens. SCEC is to resume Pony Club activities on Thursday September 7th and Tilery will begin its pony Club on Wednesday 20th September. If you would like to begin please see your instructor for details. Saturday
Club has been a long-standing institution at SCEC, where children
arrive at 9am and stay until 3pm, riding twice and having practical
hands on experience with the care of all aspects of horses. We are
beginning a Saturday club at Tilery on Saturday 16th September. Please
see your instructor for further details. SCEC also has a Sunday club
from 2pm to 4pm. GO-RIDING GROUP INTER-SCHOOL COMPETITIONS Our aim at Go Riding is to allow as much access as possible for everyone, to the whole world of horses and ponies, from the practical aspects of stable management during Saturday and Sunday clubs as well as riding courses for adults and children, through to competitions on a large or small scale. Only recently, a rider who learned to play Horseball with Philip Moiser was given a horse and played in a British Horseball Association match in Brackenhurst, Leicestershire. Many riders also took part in the Festival of the Horse at Chester-Le-Street in the summer and did extremely well. We are now extending this idea to monthly competitions that anyone can take part in and get into a team, in competitions such as Pony games, Horseball, Dressage and Show jumping. These competitions will be held at SCEC on the following dates:
Whatever your age or ability, speak to Susan or Philip and see about coming along. SCEC, Tilery and Stepney Bank are taking part and the evening will end up with a get together in the hotel.
