You have entered the temporary headquarters of the most dangerous Decepticons ever created - criminals so devious and destructive that the mighty Megatron, motivated by fear, imprisoned their personalities and destroyed their physical bodies.

Millions of years later, the five renegade Decepticons, Brawl, Onslaught, Swindle, Blast Off, and Vortex, were rescued from the Decepticon Detention Center on Cybertron by Starscream.  Starscream installed their personalities in rebuilt WWII vehicles, christened the five the "Combaticons," and used the group as his personal army in a power-play against then Decepticon leader Megatron.

The coup failed and the Combaticons were forced to enter service to Megatron as he attempted defeat of the Autobots and domination of planet Earth.

The Combaticons combine to form the gestalt Bruticus.
