Resigned as SGT and returned to ranks, 16 May 1862. Furnished a substitute (George STRAUSS, 27 Jun 1862 - 1 Apr 1863, and then rejoined company. Last reported on 31 Dec 1864, as detached with BG P. M. B. YOUNG in South Carolina. Post-war, partner in Browne & Hyer, Gas and Steam Fitters and Plumbers, Charleston, SC. d. 16 Sep 1911, and buried in Magnolia Cemetery, Charleston, SC. m. Ella S. HYER (1833 - 1920).
HYOTT (HIOTT), [Daniel] 1MM/J[PVT][Colleton]Performed picket and guard duties with the company during the period 11 Nov-Dec 1861, but no other record of service found. Apparently detached from Oswald's Co., 1st (Martin's) SC Mounted Militia.
