Douglas C-124 Globemaster II
This page is dedicated to the memory of Bob Stepanik who flew home in
  51-0119 from Korea.
My brother and I called this aircraft home when working at the museum in the 1970's
51-0119  C-124C (converted A model)
This aircraft was destroyed in the
1979 tornado that ripped through northern Connecticut.  On display at the Bradley Air Museum, (now New England Air Museum)  when the storm struck this aircraft was reduced to bits and pieces.
This is the nose and tail of the C-124 on 10/04/79.  The center section of the aircraft is about 100 feet to the right of this photo.

Within a few days of the tornado, I climbed up into this twisted heap of metal and retrieved the data plate for Mr.Bob Stepanik.
