| Birthday Bash | ||||||||||
| Two years ago, in 2002, I went with 9 other guards to stay in Palm Springs for the weekend and work at the Soak City there. The first weekend though, happened to fall on my 18th birthday. We had a lot of fun hanging out in the hotel room, playing Truth-or-Dare. Quite a memorable night. But at midnight, everyone started to sing Happy Birthday to me. And believe me this was the funniest I'd ever heard and maybe the worst, I swear a couple of dogs started to howl. But then at the end of their song, they all decided to dog-pile me. Now that hurt. 9 lifeguards all jumping on you at the same time. But it was one of my best birthdays. (My other best birthday is when Brian and Tiffany got me a cake for birthday, which happened during Knott's Kalloween Haunt last year. I was so surprised, I almost cried.) | ||||||||||

| Last year I was walking the beach of the wavepool, when this kid (about 10 years old) peed in the pool. He was standing on the edge of the wavepool beach, when he dropped his pants and literally started to pee in the water right then and there. I got a male guard to tell him that he could not do that. Then he asked the kid why he was doing that. The kid replied that he had to go to the bathroom, but his Nana didn't want to get up and take him to the bathroom; so she told him to just go and pee in the water. (Mind you the bathroom is like 10 feet away). So her took her advice literally and peed into the wavepool. | ||||||||||
| Drug Test a.k.a. The Pee Test | ||||||||||
| I will never forget being hired my first year. After you get hired, you have to go and take the Drug Test (I call it the Pee Test) within 24 hours. So after I got hired, my mother took me to St. Jude's so I could test out. When I first went, it wasn't enough. So I was told that I would have to take it again. Then about an hour later, I did it again and this time, it wasn't the right temperature. Then Bryan came right in and went right out again. And I was still sitting there. I couldn't make myself go any faster and they only gave me 10 of those little paper cups of water. After 10 I wasn't allowed to drink anymore. Finally after being there for a total of about 4 hours. I finally peed enough and it was the right temperature. So I finally got to leave and go home. Motto of this story: Drink a Gallon of Water or Fruit Juice before taking the Knott's Pee Test. |
