David had his 113th birthday this year, having spend this time in various locations serving his master the head of the Triat known as the Defiler. He was born in 1889 in London, England. He was born, childe to a servant of the Wyrm. Moments after his birth, he was the centre part of an arcane ritual dedicating him and binding him in service to the Defiler. His mother being used as the ritual sacrifice, sealing the agreement. His father was abusive taking advantage of him, starving him, locking him up as well as beating him. David learned quickly to pretend to be happy and sincere seeing his father tended to beat him harder and more if he let somehow know he wasnt happy. It is no wonder David read a lot and retreated into his own personal world, where he was safe with his imaginary friends. After each of the severe beatings was crying out in pain, until he turned twelve, by then his pain had turned into anger and finally hate. When his father returned home ready to beat him up once more he called out for his imaginary friends. Imagine the surprise, pleasantly for David, unpleasant for his Father as his "imaginary" friend turned out to be a Bane and materialised and proceeded to instruct David in the art of anatomy and torture. Unneccesary to say it took his father a long time to die, David emerged reborn and steeled against the horrors of the real world. After spending his remaining childhood on the street, being the mind behind a wave of crime, and the despoiling and corrupting of others he was approached by minions of the Defiler, and the Defiler invested a small portion of its power in him. David proceeds to spread the influence of the Defiler throughout the world this day.
Onyx Vortex Pharmaceuticals
On of the methods Onyx Vortex uses is that of using "Tainters", to infect an amount of their product, spreading the Wyrms influence and corruption to it's consumers. On top of that the actual development on the venues Onyx Vortex researches is much greater than anyone could imagine. David and his special team of researchers already have made breakthroughs in the areas of cloning techniques as well as brainwashing and DNA manipulation. These are used to enhance the Pentex First Teams, providing them with limb replacements, patching the warriors up, time and time again. Off course Ebon Vortex has had quite the collection of unfortunate failed test subjects, but they have been mostly disposed off at the moment. At the moment Maelstrom does mostly what it claims, with the exception of a secret joint venture with Maelstrom Incorporated. One of Onyx Vortex' greatest successesat the moment is the Legion Project.
The Legion Project
After Dr Kramer and his team have spend the last years creating a stable strain of artificial human DNA, they have spend the last five years upgrading the DNA to create the "perfect" assassin. They encoded the skills "Legion" would possess into the DNA itself as well as copying specific DNA strands found in certain stable Fomori Breeds. Off course the Legion was made completely loyal and ruthless. The Cybertechnology provided by Maelstrom allows a specially fabricated "Cortex Bomb" to be planted in each of the Legion's heads. This can be detonated by remote or will trigger automatically in the case of the operatives death, annihilating the body, his equipment and any opponent who finds himself too close. The other piece of cybertechnology is a sub dermal radio, which directly stimulates the bones in the ear of the operative, allowing him to receive silent and new instructions as well as relay mission updates. The Legion is being field tested at the moment, the first batch consisting of 20 Operatives. The next group is already being developed.
Pentex First Team #29
The power behind Onyx Vortex, the main researchers who developed and created the Legion Project. Its the size of a normal team but there are plans to maximise their security by adding a second Pentex First Team, the same option is being considered by Maelstrom Incorporated. The current Pentex First Team consists of the following operatives.
