Pentex First Teams overview

The First Team is the elite of the Pentex fighting force. Very few people outside the corporation know that Pentex has such trained mercenaries in their employ,  much less bands of operatives with varying supernatural powers. First Teams are usually five to seven members strong, all carefully trained in complenentary skills. Pentex's brass are no fools - they want their elite strike forces as effective as any Garou pack. They have mostly succeeded.

An average-strength First Team has fomori as its backbone, all of whom are well-trained in gunplay and unarmed combat (particularly the use of their powers). If an Odyssey-trained psychic is available, one is assigned to the team. Most First Teams manage to include one Black Spiral Dancer, to provide the team with much-needed  field advice on fighting Garou. Finally, it's not unusual for the team to sport a human with no real powers other than a chemically induced immunity to the Delerium and a plethora of useful skills. In many cases, the human rises to the leadership position - after all, fomori degenerate quickly, Dancers are usually mad, and who can trust psychics?

Each member of a First Team has the following equipment as standard issue: Uniforms complete with the teams specific badge, one heavy pistol and one light pistol, commando knife, compass and radio. The team itself is issued six clips of silver ammunition as standard, and receives any other equipment as deemed necessary for their mission. This includes heavy weapons, sniper rifles, extra ammunition, special ammunition, nightvision goggles, transportation, armor and most other forms of equipment. (Note that medical kits and body armour are not standard issue even for First Teams; some team members don't require such things, and those who would even try to request such goods don't usually make the cut anyway.)

Sugar Creek - Pentex First Teams

As noted Pentex First Teams have six members. Added into consideration is the type of character that you play; Humans for example start with extra freebie points, to indicate their training and an automatic Rank Background of one, this to reflect that they are more suited for a leading capacity. Now, this does not mean that a human will lead the team, he can still be out bought by other characters (meaning if we have a human that is). Seeing this plays in the Sugar Creek setting there are a few things to take into account; Sugar Creek is a relatively small community so Fomori with the Hidden Power Merit are preferred, off course if your fomori has no outlandish powers, this is not required. Further all Fomori characters that have up to 20 points of Powers and Taints stand a better chance to be approved than characters with Powers and Taints over 20, this is to keep the game relatively balanced in comparison to the other World of Darkness games in Sugar Creek. Black Spiral Dancers are rare in a Pentex First Team, so there will be rarely more than one (if any) in a single team. The Black Spiral Dancers that end up in a Pentex First Team tend to be somewhat unstable, thats why every Black Spiral Dancer is required to take at least one Derangement. There are some examples listed with the Character Creation Guidelines, but other Derangements can be discussed with the SC Pentex ST.

Characters with a brief history of the how and why will be greatly appreciated, how did the character come into contact with the Wyrm?, and what caused his transformation into a Fomori?, why does the Human Merc work with Pentex?, and how come your Black Spiral Dancer was volunteered for Pentex duty?. Also keep in mind that all characters in this game are Lethal meaning that death is death...besides who expects them to survive anyway, there are plenty more troopers where you came from.

As noted before Sugar Creek is a small setting so dont expect to be granted heavy weaponry, assault rifles, grenades and silver nitrate hollowpoints in a Storyline that possibly crosses over with another Sugar Creek game....off course there will be Pentex only storylines that might (well almost certainly) warrant the distribution of heavy weapons and equipment and lots of firepower. Off course the equipment can still be requested and Ranks in equipment purchased but the ST decides what you get, off course should you have that Background, it might come in handy during the tough missions.

Combat Maneuvers

The Wod Combat Book, will be used for this game. This means that Characters receive points in Brawl, Dodge, Athletics, Firearms and Melee. These points can be spend to purchase certain Moves.
The fighting style used by each and every character as a base is Commando Training, to reflect the training received by Pentex. Other moves may be purchased but can be deemed unsuitable to your character. Please lets stay with the idea we have of our characters and not build something that uses combinations that are wholly impossible.
Note that the Basic Maneuvers are Free, there are also specific free moves for Characters with Fangs, Claws or Both (Fangs: Bite, Claws: Claw Rake and Claw Slash), others can be purchased normally.
Also note that these moves are for the Pentex only part, should the Roleplay take us in a crossover with another game these rules will not be used unless the other ST agrees.
Information concerning this system can be found on the following Site:

World of Darkness - Warfare

This site also contains a myriad of other usefull resources such as firearms and melee weapons, requests in equipment can be made, ST approval off course.

Special Note: Even though you select Weapons and Moves, all Characters will start without them. Tge first part run will bestow the moves. The more succesfull the First Team, becomes the more personal freedom they are awarded.
