Matt Taul was born in Jeffersonville, IN on August 30, 1978. He started playing on his father's drumkit in 1985 and started filling in for his dad at local shows in 1988. In 1990 he played with Jesse for the first time and in 1994 formed Dead Reckoning with Jesse and Travis Meeks playing heavy, Pantera-type music.
In 1995, they changed the name to Days of the new and started playing shows around Louisville, KY. In 1996 they were signed to Outpost records. They recorded and released their debut album in 1997, then began touring. In 1998 Days split up. 1999 they formed Carbon 14, recruiting Hugo Ferriera to be frontman for the band. In 2000 they were signed to Maverick records, recorded the album and changed the name to Tantric. |
