| She's driving down an empty highway, a cigarette between her lips, her radio blaring, hard rock, all the way, windows down, wind in her hair, her sister at her side, and their life packed up behind them, This is it, the moment they have waited for... their escape, their esctatic escape, They pass a car going the other way, silently thinking, Welcome to HELL. They keep driving, through another small town, knowing finally that they are free. They stop at a small diner, a truck stop. The waitress is young, and unhappy. They strike up conversation, and learn that she's stuck, where they used to be, ... in hell. They tell her, we were there once, and give here the check, she brings them their change, but they are already out the door, They hope that it helps, as they drive away, drive towards a new beginning, hoping they arent alone, when they get there. They open the pack of cigarettes, only two left, and just enough money to get on their feet, knowing their fate, they light a toast, to their newfound freedom. |
