Everlasting Night
The darkness surrounds her. It becomes her. She's happy now. The darkness protects her, from her fears and emotions. The darkness becomes her, and she becomes it. Her scars are the stars, visible, but not noticed. No one stops long enough to notice her stars. She can see past this everlasting night, but she doesn't want to leave the darkness behind. She loves the darkness the night provides. The security blanket, that always comes back. The darkness surrounds her. The darkness becomes her, and she becomes it. ~10/21/03
I wrote this poem for my best friend, Nyki. This poem is about her and describes her, but it also describes me, and probably all other people who self injure.
