I've been in a bit of a funk as of late. I'm hoping and thinking that 2 weeks of being sick before break, then spring break, and some medium academic stress all have lent themselves to throwing me off center. I don't know, I haven't been "connected" with myself since spring break. I guess my mind is still out there. And I'm hoping that all the other stuff is what's making my body go schitzo. I don't think I need to worry about anything because I should balance out soon, but at the same time, not being regular is nerve-racking.

Anyways, the
Academic Symposium was yesterday. I wrote my presentation (titled "Identifying the Civilized World: A Pentadic Analysis of President Bush's Speech to the Nation on September 20, 2001") in the 30 minutes beforehand, so it was actually quite bad, but it was probably much better than someone who isn't a Speech Comm major. I am happy to report that I don't get too nervous speaking in front of people, which is cool, and my voice flows well. There were two quite cool things that happened at the Symposium: 1) There was a reception at the end of the day with free food; 2) One of my other teachers asked our panel if we'd consider submitting our papers for publication, and said that she'd email us about what to do next. Talk about compliments, and for academic stuff no less! I rule.

The song of the night is "Livin' on the Edge" by Aerosmith. I think yesterday or the day before was Steven Tyler's 54th birthday. He's getting up there, but they're still rocking it out! They are one rock band I really enjoy and respect.

On a sidenote, try
www.colorgenics.com. This website is kind of cool, and has managed to get me right me each time. I'm sure it's generic stuff, but hey it works and it's freaky that it does! And if anything there is great

I do believe I am going to go out tonight. Dante is coming to town and I told him I'd take him to the bars. Yes, for the first time ever, someone is coming to visit! I understand why none of my other friends have come up to visit me at school yet - the closest person is 8 hours away - but still I wish that someone would have visited me just cuz. Then again, I haven't gone to visit anyone, either. But that will all change after I graduate. I intend to do some stops in Chicago to visit JQ at Northwestern and in Canada to visit Angela at spring school. And Angela is coming up for my graduation, so she's in the clear. But still, it's cool to know that someone is gonna see me while he's up here. And we are going to rock out the bars tonight, since this is the first time I've seen him since last year. Sweet. Perhaps I'll post again when I'm inebriated, but probably not... that being inebriated and all!
