| Wednesday 26 March 2003 6:33 pm My chorus concert on Sunday went exceptionally well. I was lucky enough to have several of my closest friends attend. It was especailly nice to have Chuck there because he is the only one who had never seen me on a stage before, so he'd been missing out. Anyways, I had a blast. It was so exhilarating to be back on stage singing beautiful music accompanied by an orchestra. We performed with Mason's chorus, which filled out our sound. We get to perform the same stuff this coming Sunday with our conductor's church choir. I can't wait! Circumstances (hehe Linus) made it that I actually stuck around rehearsal longer than I'd intended to yesterday, and I happened to sing a bit during it (along with several other students). Webb looks around and says, "Everyone in here I want in the select group." "Even me?" I asked. "Yes." And there we go! I'm part of the select group. We will get to perform for a bit at the opening of the Fairfax celebration of the arts (or something like that) in April. I'm glad that he told me that I'm in it because I got to skip the intimidating auditioning part. Sweet. I finally got to see 8 Mile the other day. Eminem isn't bad... he was surprisingly good, actually. I am happy that he won the Oscar. It's kind of mind-blowing, but soooo cool! Speaking of the Oscars, I am thrilled that my personal goddess, Catherine Zeta-Jones, won... and that Renee Zellweger did not. I didn't get to watch all of the show, but CZJ and Eminem winning was good enough for me! Lol. Onto more serious topics. How goes the war? I really don't know, since I haven't been keeping tabs as much. I was more involved in what was going on those first few days. I think that there should be some website that offers data on what's going on in statistical form: no articles or human interest stories. I just want a ticker that says "American troops raided x-place at x-time" period. "Oil fire put out" period. "X number of people killed at this place." Period. "War over." Period. It just makes it easier to understand exactly what is happening. There should also be some scoreboard-type thing that has a list of "On Our Side" and "Not on Our Side." Make it so anyone can read what's going on. Simplify things. If they want the why's then they can go to another place for the stories. Heh. Otherthings in my life have been going well. An old friend of mine from college got in touch with me. I got a new bathing suit. The Wizards are only 1/2 a game behind the Bucks. Boys. There's some drama here and there, but I've realized that a night of dancing can cure me of all woes. Besides the rain interrupting a few days of beautiful weather, everything that has happened in the last day or two brings a smile to my face. |
