This land was theirs from the beginning of time They cared for it, loved it, and called it "mine".
Then the white man came, pretending to be a friend But he lied and cheated to get it all in the end.
The old ones tried to save their people and their land But the white man's greed was more than they could understand.
They waited too long to heed the call A mighty nation was soon to fall.
We can never forget the tears they shed When they were forced from their homes while still asleep in their bed.
Their homes and land was given to another But not a one could be called a brother.
Many moons have passed since that fateful day The land has changed in more than one way.
But we who carry the blood of those who were here first For the land that was once ours, our spirits will thirst.
For in the mountains and valleys our forefathers called home Their spirits are still there, forever to roam.
