THE DANCE
By Gail. R

Alone in the dark I sit,
Motionless, waiting,
always waiting, for
Your presence to wash
Over me.

Like a moth to a flame
You draw me in, lift
Me to my feet, showing
Me the steps of your dance.
Play the music I need to hear.

Whisper my name
And watch me.....
Dancing in your light.

A QUESTION
By Gail. R.

You were expecting maybe
Words of love, trite expressions
Of the way I feel.
Pick them up from some other scribe,
We don't do the love thing
Here.

Oh, I COULD write, endlessly,
Of how much you mean to me,
And how I might die
If you left.

But why bother, when you
Already know all that?
The only thing I need to know
Is...

If I fly too high, will you catch me
When I fall?

UNTITLED
By Gail.R

As Ishtar sought to Gilgamesh,
So she seeks the chosen one.
She offers storm demons for his chariot,
The loyalty of archangels
And tributes from her Gods.

She will be his brazier from the cold,
His garrison from harm
And his dragon in battle.
And unlike Tammuz, and the lion who came before
She pledges to him this:

That she will live for his shadow touch
And die for his shadow kiss.

What Did You Say???
By Gail. R

Ok...
Alright...
SAY IT OUTRIGHT!!
Only will I listen
To you then!
This is but eloquent haze,
The points hidden in phrase,
I believe the only point
Was at the end of your pen.
Speak your mind,
And let me find
That elusive genius
In that lucid metaphor!
But I see ye moderns scurry
With thoughts so blurry
I'll not listen to any more!
