TRIVIA

Vivien Leigh wanted the roll of Scarlett O'Hara so badly, she read the novel and several books on the Civil War.

The scene that Scarlett goes looking for Dr. Meade, having to pass 1,600 dying confederate soldiers, 800 of them were extras and the other half were dummies.

Vivien Leigh worked for 125 days and made $25,000. Clark Gable worked for 71 days and made $120,000.

Hattie McDaniel became the first African-American to win an Academy Award.

When the film was first released, some of the audience members would leave in disgust at the "I don't give a damn" line.

Three of the four leads (Vivien Leigh, Clark Gable, Leslie Howard) all died young. Olivia de Havilland is the only one still alive, oddly though, she is the only one who dies in the film.
My Favorite Quotes:

Scarlett: Rhett....If you go....Where shall I go? What shall I do?
Rhett: Frankly, my dear, I don't give a damn.

Scarlett: After all...Tomorrow is another day.

Scarlett: Fiddle dee dee
