Dreamgirl in Aqua - Jacquelyn

Jacquelyn is the first in my Dreamgirls series and is also my first full facial repaint. Her eyes are painted half baby blue, and half aqua to match her costume. She has bright pink lips, black eyebrows and eyeliner, and black rooted eyelashes. Her hair has been permed into a big mass of curls, and a few brown streaks were rooted in (hard to see in the pictures!). Her costume is crocheted using vintage aqua thread found in an antique shop. I used a bathing suit pattern for the base, which I modified to suit my needs. I designed the rest myself, although Gene's "Bird of Paradise" was an obvious influence! The beading is done with a mixture of rocailles, bugles, seed beads, and the costume is edged in iridescent seed beads throughout. Her shoes were painted to match.

Jacquelyn is named for one of the best friends I could ever ask for. She is the recipient of this doll.

This doll was formerly a Movin' Groovin' Kira.

Thanks for the closeup shot, Jackie!!
