Charlotte is the calico. We "acquired" her in June of 1992 when my then soon-to-be husband literally ran her over on his way home from work! She was fine - the tires of his car didn't even touch her. When we took her to the vet, it turned out she was only three or four weeks old. She also had every parasite imaginable. As young as she was, we don't think she wandered onto the road all on her own. |

And...I'd never had a cat before, only dogs. But it was only a day after my birthday and she was just too cute, so you know what happened! |

We had a hard time coming up with a name for her, but while we were on our honeymoon in St. Thomas, we got it. We named her after the capitol of St. Thomas - Charlotte Amalie. She is a sweet, affectionate cat, but she also has an attitude. She hates being left alone and she lets you know when she's mad. She is my little buddy who always knows when I'm sad, and also knows how to cheer me up! For some reason, people who don't like cats always seem to like Charlotte. Her neatest trick is that she can open virtually any door, cabinet, box or container. It makes it a little tough to keep things away from her! She is so pretty. OK, I confess--- She is my favorite. Does that make me a bad mommy??? |

Amber is our little Burmese. She was born in June of 1993 and we bought her as a friend for Charlotte, who was pretty lonely. Amber (CFA Kit'n'Kabutal's Little Awful Amber: CFA CH Tok-Lat's Little Bander X CFA Kit'n'Kabutal's Titanic Tif) weighs less than five pounds, but she is the noisiest one out of the bunch! I think her hobbies are crying, sleeping, crying, and eating. She tries to talk on the phone when I'm on, and people who do not know me think I have a baby. |

Her best trick is that she can retrieve little toys as well as some dogs. She doesn't play fetch as much as she used to since we brought Mike home mainly because she hates the dog and whenever we throw anything, he goes running after it whether it's meant for him or not. |

I call her our "little Blueblood" because she is our only pedigreed cat, and she seems to know it. She does not hunt or get dirty or even try to go outside (none of cats are allowed outside, but the other two will try to escape, if given the chance). She does not play with feathers or fuzz or things she finds on the floor like the other cats. Amber likes real toys. She also only seems to like Charlotte, my husband, and me. Everyone else she simply ignores! She has a very fine, shiny, silky coat, and she seems to be all eyes. We named her after her eye color. She is a good little friend for Charlotte, and we like her, too! |

We got Ashley in October of 1996. I found her in a hardware store, of all places. She was on display as an adoptee from the Humane Society . Once I saw her, I couldn't get her out of my mind. Besides being beautiful, she is most possibly the friendliest, most affectionate cat I've ever met. |
| Click on any picture for a larger view | We're not sure how old she is. The best estimates put her at around one year old at the time we brought her home. Her previous owners decided to move, and didn't bother to take her along or even find a place for her. She was found by the landlord and she had been without food or water for a couple of days. Again, it was bad timing for us because we had a trip to Las Vegas scheduled for only two weeks after we brought her home, but it worked out OK. It took her zero time to fit in around here. It seems like we've always had her. She gets along very well with Charlotte and Mike, and makes sure that she tests out every stranger's lap that comes in our door. |

The one very funny thing about her is.... we don't think she's the sharpest crayon in the box! She is always happy, always purring, skipping her way through life. With her big, fluffy tail, I picture her as a little girl with a very big ponytail. Oh well - there are worse ways to be, I guess! Ashley is named for the ashy-gray
color of her fur, and of course it is also a "Gone With
the Wind" reference! |
