About Ponyland

Hello there, I am Milky Way, daughter of Majesty, future Queen of Dream Valley and I'm here to tell you that Hasbro is a little off *laugh*

For some reason, no matter how hard it tried Hasbro never quite got things right in their depiction of Ponyland so Scarlet asked me to put up this page to explain things. The information is divided up into sections for ease of reading. If you have any questions ask Scarlet and she will direct your questions to me. Fair reading!

Pony Geography
Hasbro pictured Majest as queen of Ponyland with Dream Castle being the home of all My Little Ponies. In truth Majesty is Queen of Dream Valley. You see, Ponyland is made up of many different lands full of many different creatures. The Bushwoolies lived in the The Caverns, the Grundles in Grundleland, Todies live in the Mushromp with the Moochic as their leader, the Gnomes in Fairbanks led by Bab their King and the Little Ponies live in Dream Valley with Majesty as their Queen.

Dream Valley
As you are here to learn of the Ponies I'm going to do most of my talking about Dream Valley. Dream Valley is a country, within the country of Dream Valley there are many different city-states. The City-States of Dream Valley are:

Dream Valley City- this is where I live and where Dream Castle is located. DV City is the largest city in all of Ponyland and post Little Ponies live here. We have the Lullubye Nursery, Baby Bonnet School of Dance, all the playset that's Hasbro produced and we have many many more buisnesses and location that Hasbro paid no attention to. Nearly every type of pony lives here in Dream Valley. We're a melting pot. The Herd Leader, or mayor of DV City is currently Timberwood.

Flutter Valley- Home of the Flutter Ponies. Flutters don't mingle much and prefer to stay withing Flutter Valley. Their city-state is led by Lady Rosedust

WindySummer Valley- This is where the Windy and Summer Wing ponies live. These little guys are travelers! Not many ponies live in WindySummer Valley year round, most live elsewhere in Dream Valley and only return to their home once a year for their annual Winter Festival. Their current leader is Lady Flutter, with Flurry posed to take her turn in a decade or so.

The Red Mountains- Another little pony settlement lead by Fireball. The population of the Red Mountains is made up mainly of Earth and Pegusus Ponies though a few hardy Summer Wings reside there as well.

Paradise Hills- the second largest city in Dream Valley
All City-states are free to run their domain as they wish but all Herd Leaders, Ladies and Queens answer to Queen Majesty and can lose their position if he sees fit. All City-States can also turn to Queen Majesty and the rest of Dream Valley for protection. Though we are divided Dream Valley acts as one.

The Jewel Desert
The rulers of all Ponyland are the Princess ponies who reside in the Royal Paradise in the Jewel Desert. There are 12 princess who are lead by the High Queen. The Princesses take turns being High Queen with the crown changing hands every 500 years. Currently Princess Dawn is nearing the end of her turn with Princess Misty replacing her.

Magic in Ponyland
Unlike on earth, magic is everywhere in ponyland. Nearly every pony has a magic ability of some sort no matter how slight. Even earth ponies have magic though they can't control it. An earths magic is usualy something like incrediable luck or excelent eye sight. Pegusus, unless they are rainbow ponies usually do not have much magic as they have the ability to fly and so have an advantage over both earth and unicorns. Unicorns are the most magical of the three main types. All unicorns can wink, travel trans-diminsially, but only for a short distane. Also all unicorns have a special abilty such as calling the wind, manipulating gravity, shooting objects from their horn or putting others to sleep. The only pony who has the abilty to cause actual, lasting bodily harm on another is the Princess Ponies and the Queen of Dream Valley. The princess ponies control and protect all the magic in pony land through their wands.

Misc. Information

*The Average life span for a pony is 700 years, though some can live up to 1000 and former Queens nearer to 1500. Nopony knows how long Princesses live as none of them have died yet...

*Baby Ponies are born rarely. They remain a baby for 200 years before becoming an adult. Ponies do not age, all ponies even those near death are young looking

*Ponies are like a pheonix. When they die they turn to ash and are imediatly reborn as a baby pony often as a different sex or type than their previous form. That's why there are so few babies. Sometimes a baby will take an the exact form of a current adult pony. It's not know why this happens but the baby always changes into her own unique pony when she reaches adulthood.

*Hasbro had a habbit of turning every pony into a female no matter what their sex. Only the hairyfooted males escaped this fate because of their noticable difference from the females. Below is a list of smooth hooved males who Hasbro mis represented as female:

Bouncy

Skydancer

Sky Rocket

Starshine

Sunbeam

Jack (the uk collectors pose Applejack)

Bow Tie

Merriweather

Sparkleworks

Shady

Tic Tac Toe

Tall Tales

Kimono

A list of Unicorn powers is also being compiled and will be posted as soon as we're able to get them all to tell us what their powers are :o)
