WILLIAM THOMPSON, clerk for Mr. Schenk, Montfort; born at Sun Prairie, 
Dane Co., June, 1853; his parents were natives of Scotland; he was 
engaged in teaching school in Dodgeville for three years, has also 
taught in Grant Co.; he came to Montfort, May, 1880. He was married 
to Hannah Bennett, daughter of Matthew Bennett; they have two children
--Frankie and Gordon.
