TOWN OF POTOSI.

     JOSEPH GERHARDS; P. O. Potosi; saloon and grocer; born in  Germany
in 1835; son of  Hubert and Mary (MASSUNG) GERHARDS; came to New 
Orleans with parents in 1845; in 1846 to St. Louis, Mo., and in 1847 to his place, 
ingaged in  farming, mining, butchering and dealing in stock; in 1859 was married 
by Rev. ZUBER, of St. Andrew’s, to Josephine, daughter of Anton and Mary 
Ann (PLUEMER) HUPPER; has ten children from 6 weeks to 21 years of age, 
all  living; was five years on Town Board; owns eithty acres of land mostly mineral.
