Born in New York in 1847; came to Wisconsin in 1868; located in Beetown; then to Bloomington 1870, and then, in 1872, engaged in business having learned the trade in New York State. Married in 1875 to Miss Minnie WARRICK, a native of Grant Co., Wis. They have one daughter. Always been an active business man, and what he has he has made by his own industry.
