Hi, I'm Ruby
(sometimes Princess Ruby, Scarlet Rubies, or another variation depending on the situation).
This page is primarily to introduce myself to folk met on mailing lists, message boards and other online communities.
Of course, some people know me in real life, too.
I'm as simple and complex as most people.  It's really easy to define a hundred (a thousand?) different elements of myself, but together they create a synergy that I hope makes me a little deeper than the words alone would suggest.

I am aging faster than my mind (I've hit 30, but I can't remember how - and that's not the 'dementia' kind of can't-remember, or a political butt-covering can't-recall, just a good-grief-I-woke-up-thirty-what-happened? kind of thing.)

In the past thirty years, I've tried lots of different things, been to lots of different places, met thousands of different (some really different!) people, and thought a lot of different thinks.  I expect I'll do a good bit more of this before I shuffle off to the Home For The Frail, Incontinent and Grey.

As at January 2007, I've been married to my Superman for 7 years (we married on New Year's Eve '99); I have two terrific children (a dorta, "Wombat" aged 3; and a son, "Billy" 12 months old); I live in a house in need of renovation and a good dust; I live in Darwin (Northern Territory of Australia); I don't have as much time as I would like to do all the things I would like (okay, okay - not unique); I  like where I live, but I wish my mum & my closest friends still lived here; and I'd like to one day become the woman I have decided I'd like to be.

Things I thought every housewife needed that I don't have:
Rubber gloves
A cheque book (how old fashioned!)
A set of martini glasses (& the knowledge to make a martini)
Time to clean every day (& the desire to do it)
If I Write in Point Form, Will It Mean Less?
