Pick Me Up Group
Coordinators:  Anne Fatato & Judith Overfield

We welcome you to join us!!!

Life can be a roller coaster ride.  You start off by getting the best seat you can in the position you want hoping for a great view and praying no one will throw up on you during the ride.  But almost as soon as the car takes off you are moving downward or maybe your ride begins with an upward climb with a twist on the downward move.  Either way the roller coaster gives you lots of up & downs before it comes rolling to a stop.  Just as the roller coaster cars contain a variety of people, all ages & sizes, some screamers & some so terrified they can't even open their mouths to let the screams out, so it is with our lives.  We have moments when everything is level and smooth and then when we least expect it we can be plunged downward or find ourselves climbing upward at an amazing speed.  During some of these times we may feel all alone and not sure what is coming our way next.  How will we deal with the next issue to come our way?  Will it be our turn for peace and happiness or will it be sadness or loss that comes our way?

Crochetlist members have joined together in the form of the Pick Me Up group in order to try & reach out to others who have been on the downward ride and are in need of encouragement, and that better days are wished for them.

Members who are able to participate when a request for a PMU is made will send small items that they hope will brighten the recipients day.  Something that may evoke a smile or express the sincere hope of better days ahead.  It can be anything made or store bought that is then sent to the compiler by a deadline so that the package can be sent in a timely fashion.

When someone requests a PMU we do our best to find out the following information, full name & mailing address.  If they have filled out any information in the membership databases of CL or CLCAT that can help us make their PMU more personal then we try to go by their preferences.  However in a lot of cases this information is not easy to come by in fact in some cases we end up not doing anything because we don't have the necessary information.

How can you become part of this caring group?  Easy!  Just email
Judith or Anne to request an invitation to join us.  Once you join go to our database & fill in your information.  Then when the group is made aware of a PMU request if you are able to participate please let the compiler know and then send out your item to the compiler so it can be placed in the PMU package.
