A student at a Walton County
school was killed Wednesday afternoon when the car in which she was riding
collided with a sport-utility vehicle.
The 18-year-old student was a passenger in a Nissan Maxima driven by her
17-year-old sister when the Nissan turned in front of a Ford Bronco, said Vicki
Sheddan of the Georgia State Patrol.
The wreck occurred about 3:15 p.m. on U.S. 78 in Walton County.
The names of the Snellville sisters, both students at George Walton Academy
in Monroe, have not been released.
The 17-year-old was taken to Atlanta Medical Center with injuries that were
not life-threatening, Sheddan said.
The driver of the Bronco was treated for minor injuries and released. No
charges have been filed.
The wreck came less than 24 hours after a DeKalb County teen was killed in
another crash.
Matthew Hamilton Molen, 16, lost control of his father's 2001 Jaguar
convertible and crashed into a tree about 9:25 p.m. Tuesday on Spalding Drive in
north Fulton County.
