Spay A Stray

The Branch Advisory Committee of the Scarborough/North York Branches of the Ontario SPCA has recently initiated a new program called Spay A Stray (SAS).  Working collaboratively with Toronto Animal Services (TAS) Scarborough and North York regions, the program will financially assist with spaying and neutering shelter cats and dogs.

Pet over-population continues to be one the biggest challenges facing the companion animal welfare movement.  Hopefully, the SAS program can offer solutions to this over-whelming issue by assisting TAS with spay/neuter funding.

Currently, TAS relies on donations for spay/neuter surgeries, orthopedic, dental and other necessary often life-saving procedures.  The SAS program will be instrumental in increasing the number of spay/neuter operations performed; hence addressing and decreasing the wave of unwanted, displaced and homeless pets.
