Hiding more than 60% of the entire European free brown bear stock, most of the free wolf stock and lots of almost extinct plant and animal species (edelweiss, black goat etc.), the Carpathian Moutains are one of the last fortresses in Europe where you can find places suitable for the line "where no man has gone before".

Bucegi Mountains are closest to Bucharest and therefore a prefered route for mountain tracking. Its convenient placement and the "classic" routes make it never loose charm.

Known as well under the name of "Transylvanian Alps", the Fagaras Mountains are the highest and "rocky-est" in Central-Eastern Europe.

Host of the largest moutain Nature Reservation in Romania, the Retezat Mountains guard lots of Glaciar lakes and close-to-extinction fauna and flora, which makes them one of the most attractive traking routes.

The lowest chain in the Carpathian Mountains, the Apuseni are told to be the most beautiful ones. The karstic area guards some of the most extraordinary caves in Europe, like "The Bear's Cave and Scarisoara Cave - the one and only underground iceberg in Europe.
