Moya is the name of the Leviathan, the living ship, our dear crew finds themselves traveling the Uncharted Territories on. She is huge, containing at the very least 21 separate tiers (or "decks" if you prefer). She is a sentient being and does not need to have a Pilot or a crew to operate. She is in a symbiotic relationship with Pilot, allowing him access to her senses, while giving her a chance to understand the beings who travel within her through his eyes.

Moya has definite thoughts and emotions of her own--having become upset (at no longer being able to hear Pilot when he was disconnected), worry (over her son Talyn), and protective (when she first became pregnant and used the DRDs to defend her fetus from the crew whom she believed posed a possible threat to the child). She has no weapons, and has only one defensive manuever--starburst, which is also her method of interstellar travel. The crew recently installed part of the defense screen from the wreck of the Zelbinion on board Moya to aid in her defense in those times when she is unable to starburst away from danger.

Moya's concern of late has been finding her son Talyn, whom she last saw starburst out of Scorpius' clutches, and to make certain that Crais is not mistreating him. Moya was a part of an experiment conducted by Crais to create a hybrid Leviathan/Peacekeeper vessel: one with weapons, and her son Talyn is the first of his kind. Moya was also being used as a PK prison transport vessel before Zhaan, D'Argo and Rygel broke free from their cells and freed her from her control collar.
