Chiana, a young Nebari thief, vamp and "lawbreaker" (by her people's standards) was brought on board Moya by Pilot after a near miss with the ship she and two others, Salis and Captain Selto Durka, were traveling on. She was being brought back to the Nebari homeworld where she would face "mental cleansing", where her mind would be made to conform to her people's ideals of behavior and her individuality would be erased. She freed herself from her bonds, and may have caused the death of Salis, her Nebari jailer, though it is up in the air whether she did it or Durka did, since both had reason to. She is clearly acts the youngest of the crew of Moya, most of whom look at her as a kid sister, including John. She can be very seductive, whether entertaining a PK commander or enticing information from a Litigaran policeman. She is also brave and cunning, and more than willing to look out for herself first, much like Rygel.

Life before Moya: Not much is known about Chiana's earlier life, except that she had a brother, Neri, who is now deceased, and that she lived for a time with him on the giant carcass of a Budong.

Current whereabouts: She is still on Moya in the Uncharted Territories, and there is a definite growing attraction between her and D'Argo at the present time.
