Aeryn Sun, once a Peacekeeper officer of the Pleisar Regiment and Prowler pilot, was attacking Moya, trying to bring the escaped prisoners back under PK control when the prisoners managed to free the ship Moya and starbursted to safety. However, Aeryn had followed Moya a little too closely and found herself pulled along in the wake of her starburst, taken aboard the ship and placed in a cell with what appeared to her to be another Sebacean, though one who was out of uniform. She was later deemed "irreversibly contaminated" due to her prolonged contact with the aliens on Moya by her commanding officer, Captain Bialar Crais, and is subject to the death penalty should she be recaptured. She has had to work the hardest to earn the others' trust, since she is one of their hated enemies, responsible for their imprisonment. John Crichton was the only one of the others in the crew to not automatically distrust her, and apparently has feelings towards her, which she reciprocates to some degree, though she rarely shows or says it.

Before being on Moya: Aeryn had been a good little Peacekeeper prior to becoming "irreversibly contaminated", up to and including killing the original Pilot of Moya several cycles before. She also betrayed Velorek, her lover, who had dangerous ideas to Crais in return for her assignment as a Prowler pilot.

Current whereabouts: She is still on Moya in the Uncharted Territories, with no home to return to, unless she can find a Sebacean colony not under the control of the Peacekeepers.
