How long have you been a heepster?
Uriah Heep is one of my top favourite bands since 1975. I heard Uriah Heep for the first time around 1973/1974 (I was only 12/13 years old then) when I was at my cousins home. She liked (still does) Heep a lot and used to play the Demons and Wizards and The Magicians Birthday albums when I was there. I thought the music was a bit weird ( I was a die hard Sweet fan at that time ) but interesting in some way, so when the album Return To Fantasy came out I was hooked.
Now to the sad part: I have only seen them live once!!!!, and that was 1980. Darren and I hade the chance to meet the guys a few years back when Mick in an e-mail invited us to the party after the show. But my darling Darren was about to have an operation at that time so we never had the chance to be there. We both really hope there will be another chance.
My favourite records by Heep are all the ones with Byron and the
Sea of Light album and there's only one album that I just can't understand how they managed to make and release........ yes you're right, Conquest. They must have been totally desperate to get a singer like Sloman so that they could release that album. No wonder the cover is grey. I'm sorry guys, but I can't even play that album because of that blokes voice.
I guess that's enough about me and my thoughts about Heep for this time. Take care and keep on supporting Heep so they will be that BIG band again. Please feel free to visit my new site on :
