Hand dipped candles

Hand dipping candles involves repeatedly plunging a cotton candle wick in a hot mixture of paraffin, stearin and water. Between each dip the candle is hung from a frame and the wax is allowed to cool and harden. Gravitational effects gives them their characteristic bulb shaped base

As the candle grows layer by layer it is sculptured by hand until the final form is found. This means that no two are exactly alike and creating candles with regular forms and smooth features is a fine combination of temperature, experience and patience. In other words a genuine skilled craft.

Each candle is unique and makes a wonderful present for that particular person or occasion. To add to the feeling of giving something special I have created elegant gift packaging based on natural products.
