SCANDAL'US NEWS- 29/6/2002 @ 9.20am EST
I was reading the Herald Sun today and I saw an article of Scandal'Us, the title was ''.
Pop group Scandal'Us will take an indefinate break after the production of Hair ends tomorrow night.
The group was a product of the second series of Popstars, and had the best selling single by an Australian artist last year with Me Myself and I.
After the first hit, all other releases failed to chart strongly. Group member Tamara Jaber said the group would concentrate on solo projects in the next year.
'The whole band is working on different things,' she said. 'Jason's doing some producing, Danni's writing an unplugged album, Anna's doing some recording so we're just taking time out.'
Jaber said it was important for the group to move on from the Popstars series to shake off misconceptions in the public eye of who they were.
'Doing things (like Hair) gives you credibility because it's just you on stage,' she said. 'You are seen for what you are.'
After being part of a totally manufactured group that has struggled, Jaber said she would now choose carefully before she made decisions regearding her career.
'Being the first year in the industry you are very naive and just go along with it, but now you have more idea,' she said. 'I'm waiting for the exact right thing rather than taking the first little jump.'
'I've done that and I've seen how far it gets me.'
Jaber said it would be important to just be herself with her next career move.
'I think the big international stars are the ones who take what they've got and be individual and just go with it,' she said.

Scandal'Us will be the Ambassadors at the 'National Youth Week' Launch, from the 7-14th of April at Darling Harbour in Sydney.
For Simon, National Youth Week "creates an awareness about issues affecting young people". He believes it's important for young people to have "self belief and a positive outlook on the future" and maintains that education is a key issue for young Australians - "to help understand race relations and world peace".

Scandal'us have appeared in this week's 'Who Weekly' Magazine. As you probably know, Scandal'us and their Manager Les Gock from Songzu parted ways in October. The article says:
Gock and Scandal'us parted ways in October, after they failed to take off in the UK, where they toured with UK Popstars winners Hear'Say in August. "There have been some down moments," agrees Ditcham. But he's proud that when the going got tough, the would-be famous 5 stuck it out. "We have a new manager and we are writing songs for a new album and hopefully we will tour," he says, adding that 2002 is "goin to be an amazing year!"
I would like to congratulate Scandal'us for sticking out there and not giving up, and I can't wait for their NEW album in 2002. It's gonna be Awesome.
