| LISTEN TO THE STARTIN' SOMETHIN' ALBUM |

The team at Song Zu have obtained songs from established songwriters, from around the world, for Scandal'us' debut album- Startin' Somethin'. Hitmakers, who have worked with the likes of Britney Spears and the Backstreet Boys, provided tracks for the energetic and remarkable album. Together with management and the production experience of Song Zu, Startin' Somethin' is a solid quality collection of pop with a distinctive R&B edge.

1. Me, Myself And I: The chart-topping debut single follows the hugely successful staccato R&B formula devised by Destiny's Child and throws in the Latino groove of Jennifer Lopez. This song is an explosive slice of contemporary, edgy rhythm and blues. The chorus is appealing, infectious and catchy. Produced by Paul Gray and Craig Porteils, for Song Zu Records, it was written by Scandinavian hitmaker Fred Johansson and remixed by Gary Kee. The album version of Me, Myself and I showcases the group's vocals well.

2. History: One of the most impressive tracks on the album, 'History' employs the use of Simon and Jason's vocals to complement Tamara's, Daniela's and Anna's harmonies. This song is a mid-tempo slice of pure pop with a hint of R&B. Written by the duo of Janski and Johansen of Air Chrystalis in Denmark and produced by Paul Gray and Craig Porteils, 'History' is a remarkable song with an infectious chorus.

3. Think Again: 'Think Again' is an impressive track with a more mature and sophisticated approach. The female vocal driven song has a characteristic rhythm and contributes to the appeal of the group. Using it's mid-tempo range to good effect, this song has a distinctive sound that adds something different to the album.

4. Make Me Crazy: With Tamara and Jason in lead vocals, this track suits the enthusiastic group. 'Make Me Crazy' has a much more mature, slower sound than 'Me Myself and I', with Scandal'us singing within their comfort zone and exploring their own unique style. The Spanish guitar-driven Latin feel, that has dominated the recent pop scene, complements the groups overall vocal work.

5. Be That Way: Another track from the hitmaking Zomba Enterprises songwriters, 'Be That Way' has a unique Europop element. Production is similar to the offerings from the current crop of British boy and girl groups. Simon gets to stretch his voice to good effect in this satisfying and pleasing song.

6. You Bring Me Love: In this well produced track, Scandal'us perform in the style of Britney Speares with a unique angle and they do it very well. The vocals are the sexiest on the album, and the chorus is also contagious. Written by local songwriters this was one of the songs considered for their debut single and has a more sophisticated quality to it.

7. Startin' Somethin': The title track from the album, this song is another great example of Scandal'us' talent in successfully adapting to various styles. A soft yet powerful acoustically driven ballad, 'Startin' Somethin'' uses the group's spread of vocals to good effect and is one of the standout track on the album.

8. High On Your Love: Returning back to their up-tempo pop/rock style in this track, Scandal'us use their high-end harmonies to create a fun and energetic song. With its unique edge and memorable chorus, the group combine to generate an enjoyable track.

9. Love You To (Be My Baby): A more sophisticated track, 'Love You To (Be My Baby)' was written by Song Zu producer Paul Gray. The track unites pop/R&B techniques with delicate production that highlights the groups vocal talent.

10. Hand On Your Heart: Another soft and romantic ballad, this track highlights the groups talent in adjusting to more classic styles of pop music with a slight contemporary feel. A timeless pop track.

11. I'm Not Gonna Cry (Na Na Na): A catchy and impressive track, 'I'm Not Gonna Cry' uses male vocals to answer the female vocals to good effect. Another quality song that emphasises the Pop/R&B edge of Scandal'us.

12. Now That You're Gone: A solid American-style R&B track with female lead vocals, 'Now That You're Gone' complements the groups overall style. An impressive track on this extraordinary album.

Startin' Somethin' | Reviews

Whether you admit it or not, its what pop music is all about.
Hype, gossip, rumours - and music. Scandal'us, like their grammatically challenged counterparts Hear'Say in the UK are set to topple the charts with their debut Startin' Somethin'.
Much edgier than pop-predecessors Bardot, their sound is more akin to artists like Pink and Vitamin C.
Check out the depth of the album with tracks such as the slammin' R'n'B cut History, the killer mid tempo ballad Startin' Somethin', and ten other perfect pop tracks.

The second wave of Popstars is in full swing and Scandalus are making a splash.
With their current single 'Me, Myself & I' sitting pretty at #1 on the Australian singles chart it is inevidable that an album consisting of 12 upbeat, R&B pop tracks is going to follow suit.

Starting something is just what they want to do with their debut album.
The second batch of POPSTARS, this five-member group consisting of two guys and three girls from Down Under are getting hot all over the world following their tour with Hear'say. It's not surprising about the brand of music that the group is projecting. It's all out pop and more pop.
Their first single, "Me Myself & I" is a very infectious song and sometimes the chorus get a 'lil bit annoying but in a good way though.
They've got some pretty good tracks such as "Make Me Crazy", "Startin' Somethin'" among others.
Watch out for them for they are set to sizzle their listeners.
