| Rose McDermott, nee Duffy, one of the oldest residents of the town of Kendall, died August 8th, 1903. Mrs. McDermott was born in Monaghan county Ireland, in 1810. In 1836 she was united in marriage to John McDermott, who died thirty-nine years ago. In 1850 she, with five children, arrived in this country and met with a warm reception by her husband and son, who had proceeded her one year in 1849. She settled in Kendalltown on the farm which she died. There were born to Mr. and Mrs. McDermott nine children, three of whom are dead. She leaves to mourn her loss James J. of Seymour, Mrs. H. McCabe of Benton, Mrs. John E. Donahue, Misses Mary and Annie of Kendall and Charles of Colorado. Also thirty-nine grandchildren and thirty great grand-children. |
