Sound Booth
Standard Operating Procedure
NCF                                         Clinton, SC

June 1, 2001

People come to NCF to praise, worship, glorify and experience God and to hear what He is speaking through His people. If we are not completely dedicated to our tasks, we may do something (or not do something) that would interrupt this public service and therefore interrupt the flow of God's word to the people. Below is a loose outline of "typical" service and what we need to do and watch for. This may change from time to time as equipment, events and procedures change.

BEFORE PRACTICE

Please be at the sound booth a few minutes (fifteen minutes?) before the start of practice.

Read log since your last turn in the booth

Turn system on (Power strip for mixer, eqs, THEN AMPS LAST !)

(Opposite when turning off , this avoids a POP!)

Check mixer for proper settings and make wireless mics ready (batteries checked)

Get pre-service music ready and "Word" tape ready (Rec/Pause)

Soundcheck mics and monitors

(NEVER approach the Pastor with a problem during pre-service practice, unless it is critical and no one else is available)

PRACTICE

Watch for signals from Worship Leader (don't offer advice or comment unless asked)

LISTEN for mics and musicians at proper levels

CLARIFY request from Worship Leader (do you want her mic up or her kybd up?)

After practice

Offering, Be alert for song during offering and re-adjust mix (kybd mic up!)
