Richard Allen Williams, born 9-17-1935 in Owatonna, MN, graduated Owatonna High School in 1953 and the Univ. of MN in 1961 with BA in speech and business administration. During college, he was a Sunday radio announcer for KRFO in Owatonna.
From 1955-59 he served in the U.S. Air Force, attaining rank of Airman Second Class. He also was a national international salesman for 30+ yrs. Janet (nee Tanglen) and Dick made their home first in Minneapolis, then primarily in Des Moines, IA, returning to Owatonna, living in the family home at 254 Plainview St..
He was a member of Christ Lutheran Church in Des Moines, starting the Men's Club and serving on the church council. He enjoyed golfing, reading, traveling, gardening and, especially his family.
Dick is survived by wife, Janet, children Mark and Susan, two grandchildren, two sisters and one brother. He was preceded in death by his parents, one grandchild and one brother. He died of cancer on 5-11-1997. Funeral arrangements are by Michelson Funeral Home, Owatonna, MN.
