
Edna Adeline Louise Ballenthin, age 90, of Faribault, died on Friday, December 3, 1999 in the District One Hospital, Faribault. Services will be in the Trinity Lutheran Church, Faribault on Tuesday, December 7, 1999, at 1:30 p.m. with the Reverend Robert E. Snyder officiating. Interment will be in the Meadow Ridge Memorial Park, Faribault.
Visitation will be in the Boldt Funeral Home (http://www.boldtfuneralhome.com) on Monday from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m. and also in the church, on Tuesday for one hour prior to the services.
Edna, daughter of Otto and Minnie (Ziese) Olp was born on December 31, 1908 in Deerfield Township, Steele County. She married Herman Ballenthin on June 14, 1933. She was formerly employed by Kresge's Dime Store in Faribault and later by St. Mary's School in Faribault, where they lived until Mr. Ballenthin's death on March 13, 1957. From 1958 until her retirement she sold magazine subscriptions by telephone from her home, where she was also a landlord. She was a member of the Women's Auxiliary of the National Association of Power Engineers, Trinity Lutheran Ladies Aid, Trinity Radio Club, and a local sewing group of friends.
She is survived by one daughter, Sandra Ballenthin Van Erp of Maplewood; two grandchildren, Laura Lee Van Erp of Denver, Colorado and Tina Louise Van Erp of Burnsville; and one sister, Alvera (and Theodore) Lustig of Owatonna.
She was also preceded in death by four sisters, Ella Kelm, Emma Williams, Dorothy Firch and Frieda Krupp.
The family will direct memorial gifts to Multiple Sclerosis Society.
