Short CV
In 2001 I
graduated in Business Economics, summa cum laude, at the University of Urbino (Italy). In 2005 I received my Ph.D. in Economics
at the Catholic University of Milan (Italy). The title of my dissertation is
“Common pool natural resource management under bounded rationality: a dynamical
analysis”. From 2004 to 2006 I was research fellow at the University of Urbino (Italy) to work on the project
“Multi-Agents Dynamical Models in Economic and Finance”, funded by the Italian
Minister of the University and Research. From 2006 to 2008 I was postdoctoral
research fellow at HEC Montreal (QC, Canada) where I worked under the direction
of Michèle Breton and Georges Zaccour. The focus of my research was on
environmental issues and, in particular, on international environmental agreements
aimed at reducing pollution emissions.
I am currently
lecturer in Economics at the Economics Department of Durham University (UK).
Research Interests
My main research
interests are in the applications of game theoretical concepts to study
environmental and natural resources issues. I am particularly interested in the
sustainable management of fisheries and pollution emissions.
My current
research activity focuses on international environmental agreements aimed at
reducing pollution emissions. In my study I weaken some assumptions common in
the standard literature, I include some aspects of real international
environmental agreements, and I propose some possible solutions to the low
cooperation problem. My leading investigating question is about the size and
stability of countries participation to these kinds of agreements.
