Expectations of Students in My Online Classes:

 

ü      Login to course web site (Blackboard) several times each week

ü      Become familiar with the course web site (Blackboard)

ü      Read all areas of the course web site (Blackboard) to understand the professor’s instructions

ü      Read the textbook and any other course resources to understand the course topics

ü      Start assignments (Discussion Board Assignment Posts, Exams, Papers, and Quizzes) as much as possible before the due date

ü      Submit assignments (Discussion Board Assignment Posts, Exams, Papers, and Quizzes) on time

ü      Initiate contact (Use the Messages area of Blackboard) with professor for help with course materials

ü      Contact the Tutorial Center (LA-206, 909-384-8566) for additional help, as needed

ü      Contact the Writing Center (LA-201, 909-384-4464 for additional help, as needed

ü      Ask for technical help (Contact the 24/7 Help Desk, 877-241-1756) for computer assistance immediately, when needed

 

Computer and Internet skills needed:

 

ü      Know how to search the Internet

ü      Can send email, using SBCCD email address; be able to add attachments to email

ü      Have adequate word-processing skills
