My name is Bobbiann Markle and I was born on January 14th, 1975, in Yarmouth, Nova Scotia.
Before my first birthday, my dad and mom got saved. I was raised to believe in God and the Bible, but having Christian parents, knowing the Bible in theory, and living a relatively good life did not fit me for heaven. On August 2nd, 1988, I realized that I was a sinner who deserved nothing but hell and that God would be entirely just in sending me there. I knew there was nothing I could do to avoid it. At that moment I saw that that was just it--there was nothing I could do because Jesus had done it all when he died in my place and paid the penalty for my sins on the cross.
In John 6:37 Jesus said, "Him that cometh to me I will in no wise cast out." And in John 10:28 He said, "I give unto them eternal life and they shall never perish."
I attend church meetings at the Gospel Hall in Hubbard's Point, Nova Scotia.
From 1995-1997 I was a student at NSCC Burridge Campus in Yarmouth, Nova Scotia. Now I am a piano teacher, a milliner, and a busy mother.
On December 31st, 1996, I met Scott Markle, and on August 22nd, 1997, I married him. That's why this page isn't just about me anymore.

Hi. My name is Scott Markle and I was born on December 19th, 1968, in Sault Ste. Marie, Ontario. Actually, we were living in Cape Breton, Nova Scotia, at the time. My parents had gone up to the "Soo" for the holidays, and the precious bundle of life that is me was born. I was my sister's, Sarah's, first sibling; and a few years later we were joined by another rascal--our brother, Shawn. So I was the monkey in the middle, a rose between two thorns, you might say. In fact, I was nothing more than a little sinner.
My Dad, Paul, who worked for the telephone company, until he retired in 1995, was transfered almost every three years. During my boyhood we moved around a few times in Cape Breton before moving to Halifax. We lived in the suburbs in Lower Sackville where I built tree forts with Brad and Mike. Then something big happened. We moved to Ottawa, Ontario.
Ottawa was a big change for many reasons. For one, it was the first time I had to learn French in school. I saw the Parlaiment buildings for the first time. We had this big Weeping Willow tree in our backyard that I used to climb. And I was introduced to these big black squirrels. I saw groundhogs peeking their heads out of their holes along the highway. But something far greater happened in Ottawa. In Ottawa on December 3, 1979, I got saved.
Saved! From what? Someone rescued me from perishing, for I was in great danger. All my life I had heard the gospel-Good News. My parents were Christians, and they knew for sure they were going to heaven. When the Lord Jesus came to rapture his saints, they would go, but I knew I would be left behind for judgment. You see, I knew I was a sinner; God's Word said it (Romans 3:29). I knew that God must punish me because of my sins (Romans 6:23), and that punishment would be forever (Matthew 25:46). But the Lord Jesus Christ had died for sinner (Romans 5:8). If anyone believes in Him they will never perish (John 3:16). Now that's good news! But I stumbled over the simplicity of it. I kept trying to figure out how I was going to believe this. I used to think, "How will I know when I've believed it deep down in my heart?" In the Autumn of 1979 two men, Robert Surgenor and Bill Bingham, came to Ottawa to preach the gospel. I sat and listened. My sister, Sarah, got saved-delivered from her sins. I also wanted to know for sure my sins were forgiven, but I couldn't see it. It seemed too difficult for me.
Then one night they told a story about a man. Like me, this man also wanted to be saved. A Christian turned him to a verse in the Bible, John 5:24, which says, "Truly, truly, I say to you, he who hears My word, and believes Him who sent Me, has eternal life, and does not come into judgment, but has passed out of death into life." The Christian asked him, "Have you heard His word?"
"Yes," the man replied.
"Do you believe God, who sent Christ, the Lord Jesus?" the Christian asked.
"Yes," the man answered.
"Do you have everlasting [eternal] life?"
"No," the man honestly admitted.
The Christian asked him the same questions again and received the same responses. Turning the man to another verse in the Bible, the Christian pointed out that God always tells the truth (Note: Titus 1:2, Hebrews 6:18). Returning to John 5:24 the man was asked the same three questions again.
"Have you heard His word?"
"Yes."
"Do you believe God, who sent the Lord Jesus Christ?"
"Yes."
"Do you have everlasting life?"
"Yes!" the man replied.
Right there sitting on my seat in a building on River Road, I realized for the first time in my life that the reason I wasn't saved was because I didn't believe God. God had made a promise. Because of the work the Lord Jesus accomplished at the cross, anyone who trust His Son, the Lord Jesus, will receive the gift of eternal life. Could I trust what God had said? For sure! I am resting and relying on the finished work of Christ, that it is all I need to cleanse me from my sins and rescue my soul from perishing. I can never perish. Why? The Lord Jesus has promised that those who belong to Him "shall never perish." (John 10:28)
I was almost eleven years old when I trusted Christ. I have many regrets in my life, but that is not one of them. Who could regret knowing that their sins are all forgiven? From that moment until now I am travelling home to Heaven. After high school, I attended Dalhousie University in Halifax and the University of Ottawa, receiving my Bachelor of Music in 1994. A year later I went to the University of Toronto and graduated with a Bachelor of Education in 1996. At the end of 1996 an opportunity to teach brought me back to Nova Scotia from Ontario. I met the most wonderful woman - Bobbiann. And I guess she decided she could put up with me enough because she agreed to marry me. We were married August 22, 1997. That's my story so far. To be continued...
