Dee
An Arabian mare, Dee was removed from her home by authorities after it was found that she and her mate had been kept in a barn and in the same stall for twenty-eight years.
When authorities arrived, not only was there no feed or hay, but the horses had eaten their bedding and had begun to eat the wood of the barn to survive.
Terrified of the outside world, sixteen months were needed to
re-introduce the two mares to other horses and life as they should have known it.
