Coach Phenom was brought aboard by the administration at Salem College at the beginning of Season 6 in the SimCAA. The previous coach was fired after the team went 6-18 the year before after basking in mediocrity prior to that disastrous campaign.
In the homely atmosphere of Salem, OR, Coach Phenom has won the hearts of the citizenry. September 5, the coach's birthday, has been declared a holiday within the city limits by the mayor.
"I've never been to a place like this before that will completely overlook my shortcomings, such as constant drunkenness, and embrace me as these people have," the coach says. "Even after I forgot to recruit one week in season 10 because I was on an 8 day bender, nobody batted an eye. That kind of loyalty doesn't usually come so easy, and I can say I won't leave this town until they kick me out."
