Titles Held: ECW Heavyweight Champion (3 Times), ECW Tag Team Champion, XPW KING OF DEATHMATCH CHAMPION (Once) Brief Bio: The Sandman became a pro wrestler at the age of 27. H trained at the now defunct Tri-State Wrestling Alliance's training center. He entered the TWA managed by his wife, Peaches (Lori Fullington), and wrestled under the name Mister Sandman. He began wrestling in a wet suit since he was a surfing freak at the time. He moved to the CWA (later became the USWA) after the TWA went out of business. Sandman and Peaches moved to Eastern Championship Wrestling when Sandman's friend Tod Gordon started it. Sandman was champion when ECW debuted on television in 1993. He then lost the belt to the "Magnificient" Don Muraco. Sandman had a feud with the stable of Jason Knight (the self-proclaimed sexiest man on earth). Sandman's friend Tommy Cairo aided him in the battles. Sandman began to have problems in his marriage. During an interview he said, "Life's a bitch, and then you marry one." Cairo tried to step in to help, but Sandman ended up attacking him. Sandman then got Woman as his manager and began wrestling in baggy pants and a t-shirt and began smoking a cigarette in the ring. Sandman continued to embarrass his wife by carrying around a pager and insinuating that he was Peach's pimp. When Michael Faye was arrested in May of 1994 and sentenced to be caned, Sandman and Woman had a "Loser to be Singapore Caned Match" against Cairo and Peaches. Peaches got the win by pinning Sandman, but Sandman ended up caning Cairo thanks to help from Woman. Sandman then claimed the cane as his own. Cairo ended up leaving ECW badly injured and Peaches disappeared as well. His next battle was against Tommy Dreamer. Dreamer saved then ECW TV Champion Mikey Whipwreck from a beating in July 1994, then kissed Woman. Woman demanded Sandman destroy him. Dreamer attacked Sandman first and left him bloody. Sandman later beat Dreamer in a "Loser Gets Caned Match." That beating Dreamer received was a main reason Dreamer started to get the respect of the ECW fans. During a match in October 1994, Dreamer caned Sandman in the face and knocked a lit cigarette in his eye. Woman announced that Sandman would have to retire because of the injury. Dreamer then decided to defend Sandman's honor against the returning Tommy Cairo. Sandman had bandages on his eyes at November to Remember 1994. Peaches tried to reconcile with Sandman, which angered Woman. Dreamer came out to stop Woman from attacking the Sandman. Sandman then ripped his bandages off and started caning Dreamer. It was a setup. Peaches soon left the federation soon after. Sandman's next feud was against Cactus Jack. Terry Funk teamed with the Sandman in matches against Cactus Jack and Tommy Dreamer, Funk's protege. ECW champion at the time, Shane Douglas, saved his friend Cactus from a beating from Sandman and Funk. Sandman later defeated Shane Douglas for the ECW Heavyweight Title after Woman double-crossed Douglas to help Sandman win. Sandman claimed he won the belt by smoking cigarettes, drinking beer, and brawling in pool halls. Sandman began drinking beer at ringside in June of 1995 when he needed a beer to calm his nerves before a no-rope barbed wire match against Cactus Jack. Sandman defeated people such as Douglas, Marty Janetty, Axl Rotten, and 2 Cold Scorpio before losing a non-title cane match to Mikey Whipwreck. Sandman feuded with Whipwreck until "The Extreme Superstar" Steve Austin showed up to challenge for the belt. Sandman managed to hold his title until October 1995 when he lost the title to Whipwreck in a ladder match. The same night he helped 2 Cold Scorpio retain his TV title and win the tag titles at the same time. 2 Cold asked Sandman to be his partner which made Sandman one half of the tag team champions. At November to Remember 1995, Sandman was to get a shot at Whipwreck for the world title until Steve Austin jumped Sandman and took his place. Whipwreck defeated Austin that night. In December, Sandman defeated Austin and Whipwreck in a Triangle Match to win the belt for the second time. Sandman lost the tag belts when Woman put the belts on the line in a singles match between 2 Cold Scorpio and Mikey Whipwreck. Sandman disagreed with his manager's decision and then began to loose his concentration. Sandman lost his Heavyweight Title to Raven. Afterward, Sandman called Woman a "bitch" and dropped her as his manager. Missy Hyatt became Sandman's new manager after he saved her from an attack from Raven.
