Brief  Bio:

Chris was born is Montreal, Canada where he lived until he was 12, before his family moved to Edmonton, Alberta. It was at a Stampede Wrestling show at the Northlands Agricon where Chris first saw professional wrestling and the man he would work to emulate in every possible way; Tom Billington, aka The Dynamite Kid.

In 1985 Chris graduated high school from Arch Bishop O'Leary in Edmonton and was accepeted as a student in the Hart Dungeon in Calgary run by the legendary Stu Hart. The only problem was that Chris only 17 and still lived in Edmonton, some 185 miles north of Calgary. Chris would work all week then hop on the Greyhound and make the trip to Calgary to train. He stayed at the Hart mansion with Stu, Helen and the other students.

Benoit began his wrestling career in Calgary Stampede wrestling often teaming with one of the Hart Brothers, Benoit won tag titles while traveling to the United States and to Japan. In Japan and in Mexico Benoit was much admired as he wrestled under the moniker "the Pegasus Kid." After winning the Light Heavyweight title in Mexico, Benoit headed north to Pennsylvania where he showcased his extreme style in Extreme Championship Wrestling.

In 1995, Benoit moved on to World Championship Wrestling where he would become became a member of the most elite fraternity in professional wrestling, the Four Horsemen. Later, Benoit won the WCW World Title belt but frustrated with the behind the scenes political situation in the company.

January 2000, Benoit along with Perry Saturn, Dean Malenko, and Eddy Guerrero, who also got their releases from WCW and are all now enjoying succuss with  World Wrestling Federation where Benoit has aldead won the Intercontinental Champion Belt 3 times, and  Tag Team Champion whith
Chris Jericho.
